Overview
While everyone is feeling the impact of COVID-19, community nonprofits and schools are rallying to provide relief and services—such as food—to those in need, while also being impacted by decreased funds and fewer volunteers. Now, community organizations across Northeast Wisconsin are stepping up to provide support to those nonprofits.
Green Bay COVID-19 Community Relief Funds
In the Green Bay Region, the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation activated an “Emergency Response Fund” and the Green Bay Packers have established the “Packers Give Back COVID-19 Community Relief Fund” to provide flexible resources to nonprofit organizations serving the people of Brown, Kewaunee, or Oconto counties. The Packers have committed at least $1 million dollars into the Packers Give Back COVID-19 Community Relief Fund.
Eligible organization include 501(c)3 nonprofits, as well as other charitable community organizations that are eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions, such as schools and other public entities.
Applicants can apply to the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation’s Fund and the Green Bay Packers Give Back Fund through a joint application, which will be reviewed within two weeks of the application.
The Brown County United Way has also created an “Emergency Response Fund” to provide grants to nonprofit organizations impacted by COVID-19. Grants will be released on a rolling basis with priority given to the most pressing emergency needs in the community.
Fox Cities COVID-19 Community Response Fund
In the Fox Valley Region, the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and the United Way Fox Cities have partnered to create the “COVID-19 Community Response Fund” within the Community Foundation.
The Fund will provide grants to nonprofit and community, charitable organizations that are offering relief (both short-term and long-term recovery) in Outagamie, Calumet, Shawano, and Waupaca Counties, as well as the Neenah-Menasha area of Winnebago county.
Eligible organization include 501(c)3 nonprofits, as well as other charitable community organizations that are eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions, such as schools and other public entities.
Eligible organizations requiring immediate basic needs relief are invited to email the United Way (communityresponsefund@unitedwayfoxcities.org) and to share their needs. Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis based upon the funds received by the COVID-19 Community Response Funds.
