Overview

Defended a building owner against allegations of lead paint in a building. The plaintiff’s ask of the jury was $44 million. The trial lasted 2.5 weeks.  The jury was deadlocked on liability (lead was found in the building by a City of Chicago inspector) but the jury did not feel that lead was the cause of the 15 year old boy’s medical condition. The boy was diagnosed with autism at the University of Chicago hospital before moving into the defendant’s apartment building. He is nonverbal and needs 24/7 care.  The case settled for $220,000.
