For Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month (APA), Gary Zhao put together a list of book recommendations to celebrate the month. As Gary notes, “Most Americans are only aware of recent attacks on APAs during the Covid pandemic. However, these books, whether fiction or nonfiction, show that discrimination against APAs has long existed in America.” Gary’s list attempts to cover all of the diversity that comes from the Asian continent and the Pacific islands and expose readers to their different backgrounds, in hopes of bringing more knowledge and empathy for the Asian/Pacific American community.
