The Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul recently issued a press released condemning these acts and supporting Asian Americans. As Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago President, Gary Zhao emphasizes that “this is a time when we need to come together and set aside our differences and biases so that we can overcome this crisis as a community. This is a time for quick action by our community’s leaders to take on racism and xenophobia directly.”
