"LGBTQ+ persons should be free to live and work openly and authentically..." Moses Suarez Quoted in the 2Civility's blog on theĀ Bostock decision
Overview
Moses Suarez was recently quoted on the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism's 2Civility blog discussing the Bostock decision. The article titled, "Bostock and Illinois' LGBTQ+ Community," discusses the U.S. Supreme Court's opinion and its reinforcement of the Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia case: any employer that discriminates against an employee based on their gender identity is violating the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Weighing in on the decision, Moses Suarez states "On a personal level, and as a Latino and president of LAGBAC, Bostock gives me peace and security." He goes on to say "America is a beautiful country and the land of freedom and opportunity. LGBTQ+ persons should be free to live and work openly and authentically wherever they are on American soil."
Moses Suarez is also featured on the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism's 2Civility "Reimagining Law" video series, delving deeper into the Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia case and discussing initiatives LAGBAC plans to implement this year.
