Overview
Dan represents businesses and individuals in commercial, real estate, and tort litigation. As an experienced litigator with first chair trial experience, Dan has handled scores of eminent domain cases on major infrastructure projects around the state of Indiana, including the extension of I-69 along 24 miles south of Indianapolis, and assisted in the appeal of novel issues in Indiana eminent domain law. Dan’s real estate litigation experience also includes prosecuting and defending complaints for adverse possession and quiet title and the defense of creditor interests in hundreds of real estate foreclosure actions involving both residential and commercial properties.
In addition to real estate litigation, Dan also represents management in a variety of employment litigation matters, including defending clients against discrimination, wage and hour claims, and retaliation claims. He also handles claims involving post-employment restrictive covenants, misappropriation of trade secrets, and other unfair competition matters. Beyond employment and real estate, Dan works to protect the interests of his clients in a wide variety of litigation. As a member of the firm’s General Liability Service Group, he represents clients in products liability, personal injury, and premises liability matters. His commercial litigation and arbitration experience includes breach of contract, discrimination claims, claims for breach of fiduciary duty, shareholder disputes, and securities broker malfeasance. Dan’s clients include individuals and businesses across various industries, including construction, transportation and manufacturing, among others.
As the risks and expense of litigation continue to rise and the business environment becomes ever more digitally connected, Dan is well-equipped to navigate these challenges with his clients. He has experience working with national and local vendors to cost-effectively manage the review and production of hundreds of thousands of documents, and he has represented clients in numerous successful mediations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Outside of the office, you can find Dan cheering his kids and their friends at gymnastics meets, choir performances, and little league games, or doing light work on his family’s small farm.
