Overview
In his more than 40 years of practice John has served as first chair in more than 40 successful jury trials in both state and federal courts, as well as hundreds of non-jury trials and administrative hearings. His clients appreciate that he focuses on their desired goals. Whether it’s a school district, church, farm or an employer, John puts himself in their shoes and treats the result of any matter as personal.
John represents clients facing contract disputes, tort claims, civil rights claims and premises liability matters. He also represents employers of all types in workers’ compensation matters, as well as ADA, FMLA, and civil rights claims with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. John's previous experience includes Staff Counsel to the Ohio State Medical Board, Assistant Attorney General for Ohio, and Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General's Office.
John has represented clients in front of the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio; U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio; the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals; and the U.S. Supreme Court.
