While the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act went into effect on January 1, 2024, employers continue to struggle with compliance due to the confusing statutory language and updated regulations that did not go into effect until April 30, 2024. Additionally, many Illinois employers are struggling on how and when to comply with local paid leave ordinances (particularly the new Chicago ordinances effective July 1, 2024).  It’s all very complicated and getting more complicated by the day.
