Overview

Amundsen Davis’s real estate team handled the acquisition and obtained entitlements and permits for the mixed-use, New Urbanist development in Independence, Missouri consisting of 145 acres. The project represented the first significant development in the Little Blue Valley, a major initiative for the City of Independence consisting of over 2,321 acres. We acted as developer’s counsel and negotiated a development agreement with the city which also involved significant changes to the zoning and subdivision code to allow the New Urbanist development and also negotiated an agreement for a major utility extension by the city to allow sewer and water service for the project.
