Suzannah Overholt prevailed in numerous employment discrimination and constitutional actions in state and federal court on behalf of state and local government. She successfully defended a police department against a petition for an injunction in a fourth amendment search and seizure case in federal district court and then successfully argued the case on appeal to the Seventh Circuit.

We prepared and filed the necessary documents with the city and represented the client at neighborhood meetings and before the metropolitan development commission, resulting in the required approvals being granted.
Amundsen Davis obtained a motion to dismiss with prejudice for claims of breach of employment contract, defamation and infliction of emotional distress on behalf of a health care employer in Lake County, Illinois Circuit Court. The appeal was won in the 2nd District, Appellate Court.
Ken was able to get the matter dismissed based upon the statute of limitations. The case developed a new statute of limitations for spoliation claims in Illinois.
Amundsen Davis won summary judgment on a race discrimination complaint in the Northern District of Illinois when the hospital had a legitimate, nondiscrimination reason for termination and employment decisions were not based on race.
Amundsen Davis's efforts to defend our client on the merits allowed us to protect our client from being named in additional lawsuits and to not allow our client to become a source of settlement funds.
Amundsen Davis defended a condominium association in a civil rights action in federal court under 42 U.S.C. Sec. 1983 brought by a tenant who had been evicted following her arrest and incarceration for homicide allegedly committed at the property. The court granted a motion to dismiss for failure to state a claim.
